Regional Recource and Training Center(RRTC-IPSr.C)

The main Role of the RRTC (IPSr.C) is given below:-

  •  Advocacy with State Govt., and to organize awareness generation programme, impart training to stakeholders, database generation, inspections, monitoring, research and liaising with the State Governments of the States are main role of RRTC. Apart from that,
  •  It acts as a technical support group to the State Government in preparing the State Action Plan, monitoring its implementation and evaluation of outcomes.
  •  It also liaises with District Social welfare officers and expedites the state government recommendations on project proposals.
  •  Prepare an Annual Action Plan for its own activities which should include visits, capacity building programmes, monitoring and evaluation exercise.
  •  Upload its field visits report on the e-Anudaan portal along-with photographs and the observations of the field visit on regular basis in current year onwards.
  •  Monitoring/ Inspection of the projects being assisted under the programme by the D/o SJE, as required from time to time, and RRTC visited to Sr.CHs/CCHs at least twice in the financial year, under its jurisdiction.

Senior Citizen Homes

The main Service render by NRCWD is given below:-

Presently, the Home has sheltered 25 inmates. All of them are from within the district of Sambalpur, ageing more than 60 years. Out of them 13 are women. The services rendered in the Home completely free are given below:

  •  Shelter , Food and Clothes
  •  Health check up and provide medicines
  •  Recreational activities
  •  Yoga, Meditation and Physical Exercise
  •  Morning and evening Prayer
  •  Engage them in social Rituals
  •  Visit local Religious places
  •  Legal aid
  •  Proper Counseling
  •  Referral service in case of complicacy

Counseling is rendered by trained hands. The counselor, the superintendent keeps a sharp eye on behavioral changes taking place among the inmates. Though unintentionally, conflict situations arise which are handled with utmost care and passion; the environment in the Home ensures adequate psychological as well as social space for the inmates.

Regular health check-ups are done by prominent medical doctor to maintain a healthy standard of the inmates. In case of complications, the inmates are referred to nearby health service providing institutions.

Senior Citizen Homes for Elderly Widow Women

The main Service render by NRCWD is given below:-

Presently, the Home has sheltered 50 elderly widow women. All of them are from within the district of Sambalpur, ageing more than 60 years. The services rendered in the Home completely free are given below:

  •  Shelter , Food and Clothes
  •  Health check up and provide medicines
  •  Recreational activities
  •  Yoga, Meditation and Physical Exercise
  •  Morning and evening Prayer
  •  Engage them in social Rituals
  •  Visit local Religious places

Integrated Rehabilitation Center for Addicts(IRCA)

The main Service render by NRCWD is given below:-

Presently, the MUKTI -IRCA has sheltered 15 inmates. All of them are from within the district of Sambalpur, ageing more than 18 years to 60 years. All inmates are male and alcoholic patient. The services rendered in the IRCA completely free for minimum one month are given below:

  •  Shelter , Food and Clothes(Linen, bed sheet, pillow, mosquito net and mattress)
  •  Minimum Health check up by Medical Officer at the time of Admission i.e Weight, Pulse, Temperature and blood sugar test
  •  Provide medicines by nurse and maintain records
  •  Recreational activities
  •  Yoga , Meditation & Physical Exercise
  •  Morning and evening prayer
  •  Proper Counseling through Counsellor
  •  Engage them in NA meetings
  •  Follow up care
  •  Referral service in case of complicacy
  •  Rehabilitation

The counselor, the project coordinator cum vocational counsellor keeps a sharp eye on behavioral changes taking place among the inmates. Though unintentionally, conflict situations arise which are handled with utmost care and passion; the environment in the centre ensures adequate psychological as well as social space for the inmates.

Regular health check-ups are done by prominent medical doctor to maintain a healthy standard of the inmates. In case of complications, the inmates are referred to nearby health service providing institutions.

The center offers three types of counseling services: Individual counseling, Group counseling and Family Counseling. The services are provided by trained counselors. During the period under report, cumulatively counseling was given to 664 persons in all three categories. As a follow up (after care) measure the center sends letters to persons left the center and telephonic contact is also made. The counselors also make home visits. During the period under report, 271 home visits were made while 188 persons were contacted telephonically.

Evaluating the success of the treatment and care given at the center to de-addict, the number of relapse cases are a major indicator. The number has come down from 4 in earlier years to zero this year, as the center is focusing more on Whole Person Recovery approach. The center will focus on it more intensively during the coming years.

Special School for Hearing Empaired(HI)Children

The main Service render by NRCWD is given below:-

The organization was awarded a project to operate a school for the Hearing Impaired (HI) at Sarla of Dhankauda block of Sambalpur district. The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, of Government of India is pleased to sanction limit of 67 students with residential facilities. Now 72 students were admitted into the institution and all have successfully completed their scholarly journey. Services rendered to the students in absolutely free are given below:-

  •  Food & Shelter
  •  Clothes
  •  Teaching learning Materials (TLM)
